As I remember it, my mom taught me to crochet when I was about 10 years old. At the ripe old age of 10, even though I could drive, it was illegal for me to actually drive anywhere. My family lived in the middle of nowhere. Summer vacations were isolated, weekends were isolated, and my mom wanted my life to have purpose (little did she know)! I was taught to make basic crocheted circles and rectangles. This occupied my isolation until high school.
When I arrived at college, and upgraded from dial-up internet, a completely new crochet world presented itself. Youtube videos, and Facebook groups, and don't even get me started on Ravelry! I joined an online crochet group and together we stumbled through my first blanket. That blanket still sits on the back of my couch and I'm too proud to use it.
Today, you'll find me bopping around town wearing clothes that are probably dirty and dreaming up at least two new projects. Crochet is a creative release for me. Looking at a new hank of yarn sets off sparks of inspiration. Please know that buying a product from me makes me genuinely happy on the inside!!
